Bird export, import and quarantine

Noctualia carries out international imports and exports of captive-bred birds of prey and other birds. Every shipment travels with the corresponding CITES documentation and in full compliance with international regulations. We also operate an officially authorised quarantine facility.

Official quarantine

Noctualia operates a quarantine facility authorised by the competent animal health authorities. This allows us to handle both the import and the export of birds, meeting national and international health requirements.

Export process

Initial enquiry
You tell us the species and number of birds you are looking for. We check availability and the import rules of the destination country.
CITES documentation
We apply for the CITES export permit from the Spanish management authority. For Appendix I species, the buyer must also obtain an import permit in their country; some countries require one for Appendix II as well.
Shipment preparation
Birds are prepared for travel in containers that meet the IATA Live Animals Regulations, ensuring their welfare throughout the journey.
Transport
We coordinate air freight with airlines authorised to carry live animals. Each bird travels with its CITES documents, veterinary certificate and identification ring.
